José Julio Casas, M.SC.

José Julio, is a Panamanian cetacean specialist. He is currently the Director of Costas y Mares of the Minister of Environmental. He was a Professor at the Universidad Maritima Internacional de Panama. His works include bottlenose dolphins and artisanal fishery interactions, distribution and abundance of several other cetacean species around Isla Iguana, Panama.

Úrsula A. González Peral, PhD.

For more than ten years she was part of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur -UABCS Marine Mammal Research Program in Mexico, participating in various projects with cetaceans. These include collaborations with Cascadia Research Collective, WWF-Telcel Alliance, SEMARNAT-PACE by Ballena Jorobada and the international Structure Population, Levels of Abundance and Status of Humpbacks (SPLASH) project, as database manager, photo -identification of humpback whales of the Mexican Pacific and genetic analysis. She is currently the director of the Yubarta Research Program of the Sea of ​​Cortez, which main objective is to continue monitoring and studying the species, also collaborate as expert in taking biopsies and processing for Panacetacea , in Isla Secas, Panama.

José is a Costa Rican cetacean specialist that leads the Cetacean Program at Keto. His works involves: dolphin-shrimp boat interactions, habitat use and photoID of several cetacean species including humpback whales, Guyana dolphins, false-killer whales, and bottlenose dolphins.

John Calambokidis
Cascadia Research Institute

John is a Research Biologist and one of the founders of Cascadia Research, a non-profit research organization formed in 1979 based in Olympia, Washington. He periodically (1991-2012) serves as an Adjunct Faculty at the Evergreen State College teaching a course on marine mammals. His primary interests are the biology of marine mammals and the impacts of humans.

Andrea is an ecologist studying the bio-accumulation, transfer and fluxes of anthropogenic contaminants (heavy metals, pesticides, hydrocarbons, etc.) in marine organisms and food webs (using stable isotopes) and the determination and validation of bioindicators and biomarkers. She uses a combination of tools from areas such as animal physiology, histology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and analytical chemistry to approach many of my questions.
